Pep Love Announces New Album: Rigmarole

9 01 2012

Founding Hieroglyphics member Pep Love has announced that he will release his first studio solo album in over a decade. Rigmarole will release March 6 on Hiero Emporium.

The Oakland, California-by way of-Jackson, Mississippi emcee told HipHopDX, “Rigmarole isn’t a progression from my last album; if anything, it’s a deviation. This album is less about what I’m saying and more about what I went through to get it done. I learned how to do for myself as an artist. This album is about the action; the outcome is determined by what the rest of the world decides. Rigmarole is just the beginning, and it wasn’t created with the intention of living up to anything else.”

Pep’s last official solo work was 2001′s Ascension, in addition to both of Hiero’s studio albums.

Gangrene (The Alchemist & Oh No) – Vodka & Ayahuasca **Cover Art & Release Date**

4 11 2011

West Coast producer/emcees The Alchemist and Oh No will release their second psych-rap full length as Gangrene on January 24th on Decon. The new record, Vodka & Ayahausca, is a follow-up to their gritty Decon debut Gutter Water. Al & Oh again split their time between helming psychedelic beats and spitting tripped-out rhymes. While Ayahuasca (a natural hallucinogenic brew, containing DMT) may not be a term familiar to the palette of the average rap consumer, Gangrene is about to change all that.

Vodka & Ayahausca boasts choice collabs from Kool G Rap, Prodigy (of Mobb Deep), dilated ally Evidence, and Greneberg EP collaborator Roc Marciano, who laces the suggestive “Drink Up”, a welcome addition to the kaleidoscopic head-trip.
The first single from Vodka & Ayahuasca ”Dump Truck” ft. Prodigy will be available worldwide on November 21st, 2011.
