Rollingstones – De La Soul and Public Enemy got all the press at the time, but EPMD influenced the shape of ’90s hip-hop as much as any late-’80s artist except for N.W.A and Kool G. Rap. They were regular guys who made the hottest tracks: No elaborate concepts here, just one or two funk samples looped to death, and some imperturbably cool, deadpan rhymes on top, courtesy of Long Island guys Parrish Smith and Erick Sermon.

He is also known to go by Double K, K Jackson, Dub K, L.A. Mike, Mikey, Kaos, Hale Bop, and Kidd Drunkadelic.
