The Rub ( DJ Ayers & DJ Eleven) – At Night [mp3]

theRub

The Rub (DJ Ayres & DJ Eleven) leaked another song from their upcoming self titled EP dropping June 11th, titled “At Night.”

With their self-titled EP, The Rub, the duo behind the monthly party that the Village Voice deemed NYC’s best, release four new songs that, in the spirit of the party, bring the heat across genre. Although their It’s the Motherfuckin’ Remix mixtape series received praise in outlets like Spin, Pitchfork, and MTV, The Rub EP is the group’s first release of original music.

Where opener “Feel You” places D.C. singer Misun over an electronic soul track worthy of Portishead, “Dutty Gal” (featuring Natalie Storm) increases the BPMs and lowers the bass, delivering a peak hour electro-dancehall rattler in the vein of DJ Zinc and Major Lazer. “Black & White,” meanwhile, is a radio-ready NYC rap track with hard verses from Bronx newcomer Bigg Base and a big hook from Tatiana Owens, and instrumental closer “At Night” offers uneasy late night ambience with deep bass and rolling 808s that recall the work of producers like SBTRKT and Ryan Hemsworth.

In the coming months, expect a Fader mix (June), a remix EP (July), and more sweaty nights at The Rub, where DJs Ayres and Eleven will keep you dancing early into the morning (every last Saturday at the Bell House).

A.Dd+ – Mary Go (DJ Eleven remix) [mp3]

30 07 2012

DJ Eleven remixes Dallas’ A.Dd+ track, titled “Mary Go.”

I just dropped my remix for A.Dd+, a great hip hop group from Dallas. I’ve been a fan of Dallas’ A.Dd+ since DJ Sober put me on to them at SXSW 2 years ago. We stayed in touch and I was geeked when they reached out about doing a remix for one of their tracks. These dudes are dumb talented, grind hard, consistently put out good music, and have a great live show! (If they’re in your town, GO SEE THEM.)

Señor Kaos – Mama Said The Sun Rises In The Resurrection [EP]

“Mama Said The Sun Rises In The Resurrection” is a Hip Hop cover EP featuring some of my favorite tracks from the 90′s. Every beat has been re-made and rhymes have been flipped.

Señor Kaos “Da Bitchez 2012″ (prod by DJ Eleven) **mp3**

5 06 2012

New music from Senor Kaos “Da Bitchez 2012″ produced by DJ Eleven, off the upcoming Mama Said The Sun Rises In The Resurrection EP dropping July 3rd 2012.

In 94 Jeru The Damaja and DJ Premier created a song called “Da Bitchez” for the “Sun Rises In The East” LP. The song touched on the back stabbing, gold digging, trifeling women and their ways. 18 years later…all we see on Television is reality shows with women with foul mouths ulterior motives. This has spilled into the real world, where some of these chicks have completely gotten out of line with their tactics. The time has come once again to warn the fellas to keep ya head up and ya eyes open, don’t be fooled or tricked and make sure you set your sights on a real woman and nothing less. Dedicated to some of my friends and family who have fell victim to the clutches of an evil bi*&h. DJ Eleven (NYC) flipped the beat, and I flipped the lyrics. Salute to Jeru and Premier for the inspiration.

*Disclaimer: This song is in no way shape or form meant to disrespect women. It’s a remake of a classic Hip Hop track from Jeru The Damaja and DJ Premier from 1994. 18 years later me and DJ Eleven re-visited and revamped it. This song isn’t about the ladies, queens, women, dames, or madams… it is strictly about the bitches! Ya Dig.

Senor Kaos – Never Stop (Nike Better World Promo) **mp3**

12 05 2012

On March 19th, 2012 Ultra Endurance Athlete Jason Lester started a journey in NYC that has him running / biking 4,000 miles across the country to Eugene, Oregon. Along the way he made a stop in ATL on April 13th, where I got the chance to meet him and hear about his journey. I penned a poem entitled “Better Journey” as a surprise to welcome him to Atlanta. Jason challenged me to make a song called “Never Stop” which is one of his mottos. A month later, and several more states into his journey I FINALLY put together a theme song for Jason called “Never Stop.” Produced By NYC DJ/Producer DJ Eleven (The Rub) this track is designed to “do good with a vengeance.” Check it out…

Be sure to follow Jason’s journey at www.nikebetterworld.com/journey. You can follow my journey at www.thekaoseffect.com & www.senorkaos.com
