“The Newport Authority 2 album was inspired by politics & industry bullsh*t that prevented this material from being included on PA2: The Director’s Cut. Shylow and I went in and created a separate album to hold people over until PA2 drops in July. Attached with Intro, interludes and fully mixed & mastered by Joe Nardone. With confidence I can say this is not a mix tape. It will also be available on vinyl LP via Fat Beats for the heads that appreciate physical product, because I still do. I’ve included songs I recorded with legends such as Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Tragedy Khadafi, Lil Fame and The Artifacts. But, I’ve also got joints on here with some talented up and comers such as First Division, MidaZ and Big Gutta. Plus the sh*t is free – so enjoy!”

Today we release the third in the series of Legendary Emcees on beats by Marco Polo with samples that were impossible to clear… we present “Back To Work” f/ Artifacts (Scratches by Shylow).
Taken from Marco Polo’s forthcoming free-LP Newport Authority 2 as Marco states “I’ve recorded so much quality material over the last few years and I really want to share it all. It couldn’t all possibly fit on Port Authority 2; hence Newport Authority 2 came to be.”
Newport Authority 2 will feature appearances from Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Artifacts, Das Efx, Lil Fame (M.O.P.), Torae & Ruste Juxx all rocking over Marco’s production.
Yet, the project everyone should really be excited for is Marco’s Port Authority 2 LP which will be released this spring on Soulspazm Records. Port Authority 2 features appearances from Organized Konfusion (yes, a new Organized Konfusion track!!), Gangrene, Talib Kweli, DJ Premier, Masta Ace, Posdnuos (De La Soul), Kardinal Offishal, Styles P, Nature, Rah Digga, Slaine, Celph Titled, Ill Bill, Large Professor, Inspectah Deck, O.C. & many many more.

It’s been just over a year since the passing of legendary recording artist Jimmy Castor. To mark this occasion, Blunted Astronaut and DJ Doom are proud to present a very special tribute to one of the most important B-Boy anthems of all time – the 1970 funk masterpiece “It’s Just Begun”.
Hailing from Brooklyn, NYC, Doom has been immersed in Hip-Hop culture since the days of his youth in the early 1980′s. Graff writer, B-Boy, DJ, producer – there’s not a lot the man hasn’t done! On this, his third BA release, he teams up with Nutso for a truly unique project, revisiting a timeless classic that carries forward the musical legacy of the late, great, Jimmy Castor for years to come.
His trusty SP1200 is once again put to work, and with guest appearances by Large Professor, Tony Touch and El Da Sensei (The Artifacts) this limited 7” is guaranteed to be another Blunted Astronaut sure shot.
It’s also worth noting that the label artwork (by Mr. Krum) is inspired by the layout and typesetting of the U.S. 45 on Kinetic – the much treasured ‘original’ version.
B-boys of the world… unite!

The first ‘Enforcers’ release, featuring the lyrical skills of El and production heat of K-Def, drops in late November/early December on a heavy 10″ Slice. This will include the banging cuts “Give You What You Need”, and “The Jersey Connection”. It will also includes instrumentals of both and some incredible bonus beats.
This release will proceed an EP with 7 full tracks, and a hat full of bonus beats. This Mini-LP will be released on adult sized 12″ vinyl and they’ll be an instrumental version for the dedicated waxologists. Once again we’ve pulled these tracks from the vaults for y’all as this incredible Blaxploitation throwback finally hits your ears and turntables.
The days of wack hip-hop on the streets is over…The Enforcers have hit town!
