After almost a year of waiting, working, rearranging, cutting and editing The Brenton Brown Affair is finally here!. The project, which can only be described as a cross between a mixtape and an album, features guest appearances from Joe Budden, Emilio Rojas, GhostWridah (and more), as well as production from The R.E.G.I.M.E., Black Metaphor, OVR 9000 and Black The Beast.
Orlando, Florida (by way of Papua New Guinea) emcee/producer Prote-J has released his new DJBooth-hosted album, Me.Verses.Time, which includes previously-features selections “Sunday Night,” “Young Man” and “K.I.S.” Guest features include Booth fave GhostWridah, Will Snyder, Ashley Dudukovich, Jaena Maria, Jaslyn Marcal, Demetrius Daniels, Truth407, Shelly Flash and Stephen Perkins.
Miami phenom GhostWridah has stepped into his Booth with the latest street release, Downtown Lights. Released in conjunction with the re-launch of Ghostwridah.com and co-Executive Produced by the artist himself along with Gio V. and Leo “Lowkey” Zapata, the project features 12 original records from the longtime Booth fave. Miami-repping Booth fave (and freestyle series alumnus) Ghostwridah has joined forces with DJBooth.net to bring listeners his latest street release, American Alien. The follow-up to last year’s In Love With My Future (also available for free download in the Booth), the project features 11 fresh cuts from the buzzmaking emcee, including reader-acclaimed leak “Window Cracked.” Joining GhostWridah on the guest tip throughout American Alien are Paul Wall, Carlyle Anderson, Billy Blue, Jase, Freeway, Mann, Shonie and The Strangerz. In addition to the production of Lowkey (who executive produces the set along with GhostWridah himself), the project features instrumentals by Slot-A, Phoenix, Rem, DJ Corbett and Oktober 1st.
Buzzmaking duo Blood Type has hooked up with DJBooth.net to bring listeners their highly-anticipated debut full-length, 2 Weeks Notice. The street album finds Miami natives Chief and Stepson showcasing their mic skills in 14 fresh cuts, including reader-approved leaks “The Real,” “I Have Dreams” and “Yung World.” 2 Weeks Notice features guest appearances by Booth favorites XV, Big K.R.I.T., Kendrick Lamar, Smoke DZA, Emilio Rojas and Ghostwridah. Chiefly produced by XV and Best Kept Secret, the project includes additional boardwork by The Synthesis, Allrounda Productions, Scarecrow Beatz and Drew Belly.
“Good Neighbors” is the Vagabonds long-awaited follow up to their Summer 2010 debut mixtape, “V For Vendetta”. This is a collaboration album featuring Miami’s up and rising talent, such as Garcia (Crazy Hood Productions), GhostWridah (LYFE/Poe Boy Ent), and Saheed, among others. This album is a great indicator of the direction that the Vagabonds music is taking, weaving in and out of boom bap-styled hip hop, alternative music, rock-influenced tracks, and dirty south rap styled productions with no effort on their part. This is a taste of what’s to come from the official Vagabonds debut album, “Telekinesis”, as well as solo material they have in the works.
