lordFinesseLITPt2

If Lord Finesse was a baseball player he’d be in the Robert Hall of Fame for his Triple Crown record in hip-hop. Whether he’s on the microphone, drum machine, or turntables, you know he’ll be chasing that MVP crown. Last month The Underboss and Slice Of Spice hit Japan for the ‘Soundwave Tour’ where Finesse tore it up on the 1s and 2s. We recorded a live 2 hour set on 2.14.13 in Tokyo and as promised we’re sharing it with all his fans in two FREE DOWNLOAD installments. ENJOY!

1999 rejex” is a compilation of tracks that didn’t make it to my debut mixtape “1999″ (obviously). I decided to put this project together because I have a lot of unreleased material that I didn’t want to keep from the ears of my fans and supporters. I also have a couple of tracks on here I did when I was 15 years old (“little rachel”, “indubitable”, and “silent knight”) and I want to show people the progress I’ve made in a couple of years. The remaining songs (“flowers pt. I”, “catharsis”, “panty raid”, “fantum” and “update”) are tracks I dropped prior to the release of ’99 as promo only. I look at “rejex” as my more experimental side compared to ’99. Putting together these two projects even taught me a lil sumchin about my evolution as an artist and individual. Watch me go from “Joey B4 DA $$” to the “Joey BA DA $$”…… If you know what eye mean.. Haha -oG $wank

Lord Finesse – You Know What I’m About (Remix) **Audio**

27 10 2011

Most people know the original version of this track from the Trespass Soundtrack, which dropped as a promo only 12″ back in 1992. In early 2000 hip-hop heads were finally able to hear the original version (actually titled “Knockin’ Niggaz Out”) featuring what would have been Big L’s debut had the label not rejected it as being “too hard”.

This track was remixed by Lord Finesse and his production partner Davel “Bo” McKenzie (The Alumni) in 2004, and was intended to be used on the Funky Technician Remix Project, an album which is finally dropping in April 2012 on Slice-of-Spice. The track was never fully finished or properly mixed, but the team at SOS have worked with Underboss Entertainment to get this out as a special edition flexi-disc (remember those?!) and had it mastered by none other than K-Def. To quote the production engineer at the pressing plant “it’s the best sounding flexi-disc we’ve ever produced”!

FLuD Presents: Beats Per Minute with DJ Spinna **Video**

1 09 2011

This summer brings us warm weather, BBQ’s, pool parties, bikinis and New York City- based FLüD’s 2011 summer collection.

New to the FLüD family of watches is the BPM, a drum-machine inspired digital watch that also serves as a calculator. For it’s release, the watch group has teamed with some of Hip Hop’s most acclaimed producers in the BPM Video Series with Jonathan Kim. Among the acclaimed production veterans are Evidence, Exile, DJ Nu Mark, DJ Spinna, Lord Finesse, Showbiz and araabMUZIK, J.Rocc and DJ Babu.

Here we follow DJ Spinna from his 8 track recording days in the 80′s to his cassette tape winding in the 90′s to what the internet has given (and taken) in the present. The man pracitcally gives us a history lesson on all of the equipment that he’s used throughout the year. Peep game…
