A bonus track off of the physical version of Chaundon’s The Jammington album, which dropped in the summer of 2012, “Prison” is being released for free online to celebrate Rome’s recent signing to Chaundon’s Golden Era Music label. This is a small glimpse of what is to come in 2013 for both Rome and Chaundon.

Fiercely independent New York emcee Rome Clientel has released his new nine-track EP, The Empire 2: The Battlegrounds EP. Featuring standout singles Free, One Life to Live and You Want War, in addition to rhymes from Rome the project features vocals from Rav P, Alias, Devon Wright and Reks. Production on the EP comes courtesy ofATG, Mr. Scott, Kount Fif, Parks and The Gemstones.
“You Want War” is the third and final leak off The Empire 2: The Battlegrounds EP, sponsored by DJ Booth. Produced by Parks (the engineer over at HeadQuarterz studios) this is a much more aggressive and bellicose track than we’ve previously heard from Rome, fitting the theme of the project and contrasting with the previous record which featured Reks. This is the second single off Elmira MC Rome Clientel’s The Empire 2: The Battlegrounds EP, sponsored by DJ Booth. This ATG-produced cut, featuring Boston great Reks, has both MCs chronicling their journey to reach this point, past all the obstacles that have stood in their path. Obviously, the journey hasn’t ended for either of them (and in Rome’s case, it has only begun), but at the end of the day, they only have one life to live and if the song is any indication, they are going to pursue this dream of theirs until the day they die.
