Sandpeople’s Goldini Bagwell was already a seasoned emcee with a long history of standout verses and tracks by the time he released Chainsmoke – his highly acclaimed but criminally slept-on solo debut. The album resonated with audiences all over the world thanks to Goldini’s carefully constructed narratives and producer Pmpee Beat’s intricate backdrops.
Goldini has teamed up with the Lahti, Finland-based producer once again on Secondhand Smoke – a two-part album consisting of the free X-Ray EP (available now) and the Extended Cut which will be in stores of the mostly internet variety later this year.
Secondhand Smoke (X-Ray EP) is a FREE, 7-song EP featuring Illmaculate, Al-One, Sleep, Serge Severe, IAME, DJ Spark, and DJ Delay. Produced entirely by Pmpee Beats.

This time around Serge Severe has linked with up and coming Hip Hop producer 5th Sequence for the EP Boom Bap & Bars Vol. 1 available May 6th. The EP is a combination of 5th’s jazzy hard-hitting production and Severe’s razor tongue.
Severe is also out in Europe touring through several countries with Illmaculate, Goldini Bagwell, and DJ Spark of Sandpeople.

Sandpeople emcee Goldini Bagwell has a brand new EP coming out May 7th on Heaven Noise Recordings. The project is titled Secondhand Smoke; a follow up to his previously released Chainsmoke album and production is once again handled entirely by Pmpee Beats of Lahti, Finland. Today we present visuals for the title track off the new EP.
In the Sam Naiman directed video, Goldini finds himself caught up in a bad situation as a group of masked goons interrogate him about his connections. At least they let him get in a couple of cigarettes before it’s all over…

To celebrate his favorite holiday (420), Sandpeople’s Al-One The Remedy just released a brand new, seven song EP, titled Shallow Al. True to its title, Shallow Al finds the Portland emcee waxing not so philosophically over such topics as voracious female fans, strains of weed, and designer fragrances. With fiery production by Chase Moore, Stewart Villain, and Pale Soul, barely scratching the surface has never sounded so good!
As an added bonus, Al-One released another new (and 420 appropriate) preview from the EP; the Stewart Villain produced “Cologne & Chronic.” So celebrate every stoner’s favorite day, and record store day (and forget all the other bullshit that happened on this day throughout history) by supporting Al-One’s new record!

Sandpeople’s 4/20 celebration has started early. Today OnlyOne released the 2nd installment of his collaborative project with Northern Cali-based producer Furtado Yuen (the first is available here). Vol. 2 is a brief but potent dose of OnlyOne’s raw delivery over Yuen’s soulful, hard-driving beats. The album is available for free (or more with the “name your own price” option) on OnlyOne’s bandcamp page.

Sandpeople’s Al-One The Remedy is back with some brand new heat, just in time for your favorite holiday (4/20). “Shallow Al” is a seven song EP that, true to its title, finds the Portland emcee waxing not so philosophically over such topics as voracious female fans, strains of weed, and designer fragrances. Barely scratching the surface has never sounded so good..
Today we are giving away a track from the new EP; “Money Maker” features a Portland all-star lineup with veteran emcees Al-One and Rocket One shining over a Stewart Villain produced slumper. It might be shallow, but it’s a universal grind.

Today marks the one year anniversary of the passing of our friend Gavin Theory, an amazing emcee/producer from the group Hives Inquiry Squad. Although he left us way too soon, his music lives on. In addition to his existing catalog (peep http://hivesinquirysquad.com/), there are sure to be some unreleased gems that will surface over the years. We are happy to share one of these gems today, as IAME and Lucas Dix (of Hives Inquiry Squad & Jellyfish Brigade) present Po’est Pimpin’ – which finds the two emcees talking dollars and sense over some unmistakeable Gavin Theory funk. Rest in Power Gavin Theory.

Sandpeople’s OnlyOne released a fresh new single today for OnlyOne & Furtado Yuen present: Volume 2; the second installment of the rapper/producer duo’s series of collab EP’s (Release date: 4/20). OnlyOne and Al-G spit monstrous verses while Chase Moore laces haunting, melodic vocals over the hook and lends his production talents to this collaborative effort with Furtado Yuen.
“Everything I ever spit was metaphysics, we a ten-headed dragon wrapped around eleven bridges” -OnlyOne reps his crew Sandpeople and references hometown Portland, as he offers this new release from the camp.

IAME drops a new track “A Heven” produced by Smoke M2D6, inspired by Heaven Noise Recordings.
“It’s been almost a year since I released my latest album; the Smoke M2D6 produced exercise in post-swag party crashing, titled Lame$tream. In addition to promoting the new record, I’ve spent the past 11 months working on a number of solo and collaborative projects as well as running my own label, Heaven Noise Recordings.
Heaven Noise Recordings is the main inspiration for “A Heven” (choose your own pronunciation). “A Heven” is a one-off single that pretty much picks up where Lame$tream left off in terms of Smoke M2D6′s production and my overall mental state. The theme of this song was pretty much born by me looking at HNR (Heaven Noise Recordings) as a place where tracks go after they’re killed. It’s just one of the meanings behind the whole Heaven Noise name.” – IAME
