Hosted by Terry Urban, the project features 18 tracks’ worth of previously-released material, unreleased cuts, original records and freestyles, including the Booth-approved “Lord Knows (Freestyle),” “Weighting” and “Hot in This B*tch (Remix).” Joining Forte’ on the guest tip throughout YOTD are Lloyd Banks, Don Trip, Freeway, Sean Rose, Selina Carrera, Rocky Diamonds, Sean Falyon, Jim Jones, Pusha T, Buddy James, Young L, Damani and Raak.

“Welcome To The Wrong Side” is the debut mixtape from Cleveland duo The Wrongguys. It is entirely produced by The Wrongguys’s M. Stacks and features a “who’s who” list of MC’s in the game right now. “Welcome To The Wrong Side” is an accurate reflection of their gritty, street-wise sound. M. Stacks provides a more hard-edged style of production than that of his previous work. The mixtape showcases Skean’s signature multisyllabic rhyme style with lyric topics ranging from Mafioso, materialism, bragadocio, to love. This mixtape is characterized by grimy soul samples, crispy drum loops, and creative wordplay. The project is presented by two of the biggest co-signers in the game, Roc Nation’s Mick Boogie, and Terry Urban. It’s powered by IM King Clothing.

This project represents where we are at right now. We’re not young cats anymore. We’re not kids anymore. We’re definitley not fully adults. We’re kind of like in a weird in between stage. This project is thinking back to times when we didn’t have shit to worry about. Our imaginations were free. So that’s the main thing I went for writing wise on the CD. Getting back to that place with a completely free mind, and I am seeing a lot of people I know getting trapped by life in general. They are forgetting about their dreams and stuff they wanted to do. This is us telling people don’t forget how you were and don’t forget what we were on back in the day. That’s Give Up the Sticks in a nutshell.

Inspired by 20 years of greatness from hip-hop’s most consistent group, De La Soul, this project unites the cream of the crop in hiphop… including old school legends (Phife, Camp Lo and Skillz), current hitmakers (Talib Kweli and Kardinal Offishall) and future stars (U-N-I, Tanya Morgan and Tabi Bonney) to remake their favorite De La classics.

Originally stemming from Mick Boogie’s popular VH1 Honor Roll mixtape last year, we worked with our favorite artists and producers to create an astounding 20 remakes! One for every year of De La history!
