With “Emeryville,” Sylvan LaCue reflects on a trip to Emeryville, CA, where he fell in love with a girl that helped him overcome the adversity and gave him the courage to take the necessary steps to discovering the inner self he’s been searching for. A single from his forthcoming Far From Familiar album, “Emeryville” premieres via Pigeons & Planes, who notes that “LaCue is a very passionate artist… he digs deeper into his vulnerability to express feelings that many of us are not brave enough to share.” “Emeryville” follows “Fall From Grace,” which debuted via Complex and found the 25-year-old artist making a decision to take a step back in order to take a step forward, recalling a decision to escape the spiraling madness of Los Angeles in favor of re-connecting with his hometown Miami roots.

“The craziest thing about evolution is that you never see it coming,” explained Sylvan LaCue in a recent journal to his fans. Prior to the forthcoming Far From Familiar album, Sylvan LaCue shared his E V A N G E L I N E EP in December ’15 via Pigeons & Planes. While Far From Familiar is set to share the story of Sylvan LaCue losing his ambition and becoming detached from the friends and family that he truly cares for, the E V A N G E L I N E EP was a postlude to the album. “‘Emeryville’ signifies the true beginning to my relationship with Evangeline, the woman I wrote about in my previous EP,” Sylvan LaCue explains. “’Emeryville’ is essentially about the struggle to admit that you want to belong to someone who’s struggling to admit that they want to belong to you too.” Sylvan LaCue’s Far From Familiar album is set to release in Spring 2016.
