Of Mexican Descent – The Gulf Of Mexico Ft. Limari (Official Video)

Of Mexican Descent is the legendary collaboration between Los Angeles-based artists 2Mex (Alejandro Ocana) and Xololanxinxo (Daniel Rodriguez). Formed in 1991, the duo became foundational members of the Good Life/Project Blowed movement that helped define the LA underground hip hop scene. Their 1998 EP Exitos y Más Exitos remains one of the most influential and adventurous releases of its era.
Now, after decades apart, Of Mexican Descent is back—working on a brand-new album in collaboration with Fake Four Inc. and Seattle’s Concuss Creations. In many ways, this is a full-circle moment: Fake Four would not exist without the direct influence of these underground pioneers.
Reuniting at a time when immigration rights are under attack, history is being rewritten, and families are still being torn apart by agencies like ICE, the duo is once again wielding their art as resistance. The Gulf of Mexico is just the first taste of what’s to come—a powerful return rooted in ancestry, urgency, and unflinching truth.
