ullnevano – Playground Legend | album

Baltimore’s own UllNevaNo is set to release his highly anticipated new album Playground Legend, a project that merges raw lyricism with vivid storytelling and nostalgic inspiration. The record is produced in full by New York-based beatsmith Ray Robinson and executive produced by Logic Marselis, marking a collaborative effort that bridges regional hip hop energy with classic East Coast grit. Playground Legend delivers a balance of hard-hitting “barring out” tracks and thought-provoking conceptual records. Among its standout cuts is “Pistol Pete,” a creative nod to Nas’s classic “I Gave You Power,” where UllNevaNo personifies themes of struggle and survival with gripping perspective. Another highlight, “Niptucked,” unpacks the modern dangers of body augmentation, blending sharp social commentary with his trademark wordplay.
The album’s creative DNA is deeply inspired by the And 1 Mixtapes that circulated on VHS during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Much like those tapes that showcased raw streetball talent and style, Playground Legend is a testament to artistry unfiltered by mainstream expectations—rooted in culture, authenticity, and creativity.
“This project is about being innovative and authentic, like those And 1 VHS tapes we all grew up on. I wanted to create something that felt just as legendary and underground, something that pushes both the bars and the concepts forward,” says UllNevaNo.
With Playground Legend, listeners can expect sharp lyricism, head-nodding beats, and a journey that pays homage to hip hop’s golden age while offering fresh and relevant storytelling.
