Ageism in hip-hop is a hot topic, and to be honest, hip-hop is the only genre where this is even a discussion. Well, I can tell you that I have had more success, made more money, and accomplished so much more in my 40s than at any other time. So yeah, I got better with time like fine wine.

Back in 2024, I came up with this wild idea of creating an album that you watch. The Docu-Album format was born.

Hello, My Name Is Fokis was something I’d never seen done before: 46 minutes of music and documentary storytelling combined into one experience. It premiered on YouTube in August 2024, and the response was incredible.

Now, the album is finally coming to all DSPs, vinyl, CD, and tape.
To get things started, I wanted to lead with one of my favorite songs from the project – “40 Year Old Rapper” produced by German lo-fi producer High John.
