Vice beats and Unity – New Beginnings EP

New Beginnings is the debut collaborative EP from Bristol (UK) producer Vice beats and Cardiff based MC and graff writer Unity, bringing together an EP of five tracks that celebrate hope amidst adversity, and exploring new chapters of life in varying forms.
Unity is a Wales-based lyricist celebrated for her sharp storytelling, poetic delivery, and deep-rooted understanding of Hip Hop culture. Raised in Mid Wales on guitar bands before discovering funk and Hip Hop through the Beastie Boys, she began her journey after winning a Swansea poetry slam in 2018 and quickly developed into a compelling MC. Her music has received support from BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio 6 Music, and international stations, alongside features from Fresh on the Net, Buzz Magazine, and BBC Horizons. Unity has performed at festivals including Boomtown, Focus Wales, BBC Radio 6 Music Festival, Brecon Jazz Fringe, and New Skool Rules in Rotterdam, supporting artists such as Grandmaster Flash, Kae Tempest, and Blak Twang. Vice beats is a UK-based Hip Hop producer known for crafting warm, soulful boom-bap rooted in classic golden-era traditions while pushing toward a contemporary sound. His work bridges heritage and innovation, pairing rich sample textures with modern clarity. Over the years he has collaborated with respected artists including Blu, A-Plus (Souls of Mischief), Akil, and Phat Kat, earning recognition from influential tastemakers such as KRS-One, DJ Premier, DJ Koco, and Gilles Peterson. Consistently focused on authenticity and musical depth, Vice Beats has established himself as a trusted creative voice within the international underground Hip Hop community.
The project also features original artwork by Vice beats, featuring photography by Ya.Snaps (former End Of The Weak MC) with vocal and instrumental features from Dakari Love, Molly Upton, Saint Bernadette, and saxophonist Thalassic.
Set for digital release via EQ Music / HHV Records on 20th March, New Beginnings represents 2 years worth of development, following the duo on their creative paths, with learnings along the way.
