One Eyed Kings – Children of the Ghetto ft. Molina, AKIR, & Big Samir **mp3**

“Children of the ghetto, runnin’ wild and free/ in a concrete jungle, filled with misery…”
-Philip Bailey (Earth, Wind & Fire)

Four emcees. One struggle. For “Children of the Ghetto”, the One Eyed Kings (Mr. Bostic & Bravo One) enlisted the services of Molina, Akir (Rebel Armz), and Big Samir (The ReMINDers) to help tell the story of that very struggle. The four politically and socially conscious rhyme spitters take turns sharing their commentary sprinkled with street tales over the laid-back Mr. Bostic-produced beat.

The track is an ode of sorts to Philip Bailey’s song by the same name, and also to Spike Lee’s “Clockers”. The single’s artwork, created by scarletSmoke Concepts, is taken from the drug transaction scene in “Clockers” (whose soundtrack contains Philip Bailey’s original “Children of the Ghetto”).

This song is dedicated to the children across the globe that continue to persevere in the face of injustice and oppression. Coming all the way live from every hood worldwide, we present to you, “Children of the Ghetto”.
