Gratefully back at it after a brief, well-deserved hiatus,
analogue synth extraordinaire, Computer Jay
dropped a new single today.

Well known as 1/3 of the modern funk supergroup, Master Blazter
(who I think we can safely say were one of the fiercest funk trios of all time now)
w/ DaM-FunK & the late J-1,
Computer Jay has always been a talented solo producer on his own as well.

He graciously reminds us of that today
w/ the release of the first single & title track
from Vol 1 of his upcoming 4 part series, Savage Planet Discotheque.
Premiered by Okayplayer this morning,
the song features SA-RA cosmonaut, Shafiq Husayn
& L.A. vocalist, Jimetta Rose
both melting into the warbling synths & thunderous low end
of a beat that aspires to the future
while at the same time recalls the sound of early 80′s electro –
all coming together form a sound all anew.
