Psalm One – Macaroni and Cheese [video]

“Macaroni and Cheese” has been a favorite song of Psalm One fans for a long time, so it’s amazing to see a visual for the funky, bluesy track from her incredible commercial debut, 2006’s “The Death Of Frequent Flyer.”

This inspiring clip was conceived and directed by 17-year-old DJ Rybski, a high school senior at Chicago’s Nazareth Academy. Using the power of Twitter, DJ contacted Psalm and offered his services based on his love of the music. A few weeks later, the two met, and DJ decided he wanted to use the video as an opportunity to give back to those less fortunate. Psalm wholeheartedly agreed, given her mentoring efforts with schools all across the nation.

The result is the following clip, with Psalm One preparing her beloved mac and cheese (she really does make a mean bowl of it) and serving it for an awesome group of women at Deborah’s Place, a homeless women’s shelter on the West Side of Chicago.
