Kokayi – Part of It [video]
An ode to humanity and all of its shortcomings. Co-produced by Arsonal (Wyclef, Akon, Wale), the anthemic song utilizes sparse drums, steady bass and lush keys reminiscent of the 70’s all while staying current. The chorus reminds us that the onus of responsibility is on us “because we’re all a part of it stones and all, the boughs are broken watch them fall and the streets is watching is the alter call”. The video, shot and edited by Magee (Nomadic Wax), features lush tones as it juxtaposes nature against the imagery presented in the lyrics.
