Luther Vandross passed away ten years ago today, aged 54. Initially known as a backing singer for the likes of Chic and David Bowie, Vandross launched a stellar solo career with the instant classic ‘Never Too Much’ in 1981.

And as every couple knows: if you want to get it on, Vandross’ music is where it’s at. New transatlantic duo Golden Rules pay tribute to this enduring quality on their new song, ‘Play Some Luther’.

Golden Rules vocalist Eric Biddines directs his amorous attentions to the recent Joe Goddard-collaborator and BBC radio host Mara Carlyle, who finds time amongst the romance to play the musical saw, while producer Paul White shows his versatility with a spacious, beautiful track.
