A3C Hip Hop Festival Renews Partnership with iHipHop Distribution, Releases First Single from A3C Volume 6 by A-F-R-O

With the 2016 A3C Hip Hop Festival now officially underway, iHipHop Distribution and the A3C are proud to announce their renewed partnership for A3C Volume 6. The first single from this year’s A3C compilation album comes from the rising Los Angeles lyricist, A-F-R-O. With a name short for All Flows Reach Out, the 18-year old MC first gained notoriety in 2014 with an audio submission to R.A The Rugged Man’s ‘Definition of a Rap Flow’ contest, which quickly went viral. A-F-R-O quickly captured the attention of notable figures in music. Questlove is quoted as saying, “A-F-R-O is the future of Hip-Hop.” In July, A-F-R-O released his debut EP with producer Marco Polo, appropriately titled A-F-R-O Polo, to rave reviews.

“We Got That” exemplifies A-F-R-O’s signature style of boom-bap mastery and is produced by the illustrious Mr. Green, equally known for his production for hip-hop luminaries like R.A. The Rugged Man, Jedi Mind Tricks, Freddie Gibbs, and The Outsidaz as he is for his Noisey web series Live From the Streets. On the hook, Scrooge insists, “you say you got bars, well let me hear something” and A-F-R-O gladly obliges with an array of lyrical acrobatics that will have fans listening on repeat to catch each line. The track premiered today alongside the announcement of A3C Volume 6 via HipHopDX.

A3C Volume 6 marks the sixth year that the A3C Hip-Hop Festival and iHipHop Distribution have joined forces to bring a diverse array of new hip-hop to fans across the globe. The A3C compilation series has been influential within the genre, serving as a barometer for which artists will become renowned staples in the ever-changing hip-hop landscape. Past compilation artists include G-Eazy, Curren$y, Action Bronson, Big K.R.I.T, Vince Staples, Ab-Soul, A$AP Rocky, Danny Brown, Underachievers, Smoke DZA, Trademark Da Skydiver, Rockie Fresh, Bodega Bamz, Freddie Gibbs, Sir Michael Rocks, Alex Wiley, Mick Jenkins, Chris Webby, Dave East, OCD: Moosh & Twist, Scotty ATL, Robb Bank$, Michael Christmas, Tunji Ige, Manolo Rose, Locksmith, and Trinidad James, just to name a few. For this reason, the compilation has seen praise from various outlets including iTunes, as its editors raved, “the A&R rep has done a commendable job, cherry-picking some of the most promising, would-be rap stars from countless wannabes.”

This year’s A3C Volume 6 will offer an even more refined overview of emerging hip-hop artists, as the compilation will feature approximately 30 artists, where in past years the compilations has included well over 50 artists.

A3C Volume 6 is slated to hit stores worldwide on October 28th via A3C / iHipHop Distribution
