Funk Logik – Prelude to The Funk [instrumentals]

Los Angeles-based Hip-Hop emcee/producer Funk Logik releases his 2nd instrumental album, Prelude to The Funk. As a way of paying his respect, Funk Logik turns the chapter from his previous album Refugee and now remembers the fallen brothers and sisters on memorial day. Everybody has their own view of what memorial day means.

Soldiers like Toussaint L’Ouverture a former slave who rose to become the leader of a successful slave revolt, shall not be forgotten but honored and saluted. Tracks like ‘Mr. Toussan’ and ‘Black Napoleon’ represent the soul of this great leader. Prelude to The Funk is an exhibit of Funk Logik at his best and most nostalgic. Regardless if your into trap or boom bap he put together something hip-hop heads on both sides should feel. This beat tape is intertwined with jazz-fusion rhythms and funky drum breaks which makes for a dense and strong listen. Blakface is expected to release their upcoming album, Bamboozled later this summer.
