Los Angeles funkster, XL Middleton, will release his upcoming “Things Are Happening” album on Oct. 6th via MoFunk Records. The upcoming album is the follow up to XL Middleton’s “Tap Water” album and fittingly, the content of the new album strays down darker and more cynical paths than its predecessor. The grooves remain uptempo; the synth work is still warm and percussive, but there is a heavier story to tell and greater truths to face.

Today, check out the single for the song “Paradise of Pavement” featuring Zackey Force Funk. The song details the highs and lows of living in LA, framed by cosmic chords and grinding synth bass tones.
