Arrested Development “Becoming” b/w “Young Americans” (Single)

“Becoming” sees legendary 2 x Grammy winning band, Arrested Development, go full circle and return sonically to the dusty, soul drenched sounds of their first two classic albums.

Produced and engineered by esteemed British producer, Configa, the song channels Gospel music and is infused with his familiar boom-bap percussion.

Lyrically, Speech utilises the back story of a prisoner called Anthony – whom was featured in his “16 Bars” documentary (filmed in a Richmond, Virginia penitentiary).
It details a turbulent upbringing, littered with domestic abuse, the moulding of an
embittered street teen sentenced to prison and a resulting epiphany – resulting in the character wanting to be a positive Male role model to his young Daughter.
“But I know I have a gift and a heavenly mission/ So I’m gonna get a new life by living life totally different”

“Becoming” is the latest single off of Arrested Development’s upcoming new album “Don’t Fight Your Demons”, which will be released September 25th.
