El Prez connects with LA-based producer Professor H (Stalley, Jansport J, Villain Park) for their new album Angels With Dirty Faces. Accompanied by a hazy and vintage Professor
H soundtrack that combines foundational samples and trunk-rattling drums inspired by Madlib and others, Angels With Dirty Faces is one of Prez’ most impactful projects and a true ode to the City of Angels. Highlights include the first slick, approachable single “EyeKnow U” a collaboration with LA Underground King Blu, of Blu & Exile, and the soon-to-be summer anthem “LA is the Center of the World” with collaborators Thurz and DJ Rhettmatic of the Beat Junkies.

“EyeKnow U” finds El Prez and Blu scored by dynamic drums, vintage keys, and a rolling bassline from producer Professor H. Prez effortlessly delivers lines in a south central cadence fresh out of FX’s Snowfall about everything from gentrification to Eazy-E, in a declaration to naysayers and outsiders: “I know your type, yeah I know your info/ I know you never met a leader that’s from South Central/ and all the transplants in the city know the rent’s due/ because the natives’ getting restless and they want that issue.”

Other highlights include the coming of age anthem “Numerology”, which details El Prez’ upbringing in South Central Los Angeles, the motivational jam “Get Up” featuring DJ Rhettmatic, and the ode to his mother and all the special women in his life on “Heaven + The Stars (special)”.
