Oddisee & Heno. – From Takoma With Love | album

Words by Heno.
“It Takes A Village”
This album took a village, and I don’t take that lightly. Thank you to everyone who poured time, energy, love, and resources into not just this album, but the dream behind it.
This is dedicated to the home that raised me, Takoma Park, MD;
The place that shaped my curiosity, my love for music, and my resilience.
What started as a safe haven to create and stay out of the way turned into a real path, a real career… and I know there’s still more work to do.
Being nomadic has shaped how I see everything; experiencing different cultures, different perspectives, & different ways to move through the world. But no matter where I go, the goal has always been to bring that knowledge & that growth back home. Pouring it back into the community that raised me is how you can build something bigger than yourself and keep it going forward.
To my friends and family across the DMV, my loved ones in the Bay Area & LA, everywhere in between, overseas, and the ones no longer here, I carry you all with me in every step. Love to Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan & East Africa as a whole.To Oddisee (Amir) for taking a chance on me, to Daniel, to Outer Note Label and to Mindfeederz, to Arthur Banach for the amazing artwork, to Brandon (Mad Keys) for our overall growing brotherhood,
and to C.Y. Lee for really helping bring the vision to life.
Thank you.Grateful to tell a personal story that hopefully connects in a universal way.
Lastly, free ALL oppressed people everywhere. Free Palestine, Free Tigray,
Free Sudan, Free Congo, Free West Papua, Free Hawaii, Free Cuba &
Pay Haiti.From Takoma With Love,
Heno.![]()
