Sean Price Goes To Smorgasburg [video]

For those who have followed New York hip-hop over the past two decades, Sean Price needs no introduction. One half of the gritty rap duo Heltah Skeltah, and a member of the seminal supergroup Boot Camp Clik, Sean P has been a staple of the scene since the early ’90s. And unlike many other names from that period, he hasn’t faded into obscurity. More recently, he’s launched a solo run with Duck Down Records, and also established himself as one of hip-hop’s favorite court jesters.

Through it all, Sean has been a tireless ambassador for Brooklyn, repping his ‘hood—Brownsville—everywhere he goes. To see what he makes of a very different part of the borough than his own, we took him on an outing to Smorgasburg, an artisan food market held each Saturday the Williamburg waterfront.

We already knew Sean liked his Gorilla Coffee, but we wondered what he would make of locavore sausages, Asian hot dogs, and the grazing habits of the New Brooklyn hipster.
