Having recently returned from a run of sold-out shows in the US—including alongside Burna Boy at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park—and a standout performance at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, Sampa The Great announces ‘Freedom’ the third single taken from her forthcoming debut album “The Return”, out 13th September on Ninja Tune.

The track—which was given a First Play on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show last night—follows the singles ‘Final Form’, and ‘OMG’, which were championed by the likes of Zane Lowe & Ebro Darden (Beats 1), Gilles Peterson & Lauren Laverne (6 Music) and Mistajam & DJ Target (Radio 1), and saw an outpouring of support from Pitchfork, FADER, The Guardian, The Observer, NPR, Crack, Vulture, Afropunk, Hypebeast, Dazed and many, many more. Sampa has also found a new fan in Jada Pinkett Smith who described her as her favorite new artist, sharing the video for ‘Final Form’ with her 8+ million followers, and making Sampa the only person she follows in Instagram.
